I’ve always enjoyed writing ever since I was a child. I would write letters to friends and family. Every Christmas I would ask for notebooks so I could write stories many of them based on all the Enid Blyton books I had read. I would also keep a diary and then as I entered my young adult years I exchanged my diaries for journals.
I never imagined as a child I would be doing the kind of writing I do now. I think my teachers would also be amazed, especially as their grades for me never rose above ‘average’ no matter how hard I tried!
Living with a long term illness
I became ill with ME in my early twenties and as a result suffer with depression. I have also lived for years with chronic migraines. Living with a long-term illness meant that my busy lifestyle and over-commitments came to a hasty stop.
But as a result, God reached me in my dark times and took me further on in my faith and relationship with him.
Much of what I write comes from persevering through the challenges of poor health and the truths God has revealed to me as I’ve journeyed through life.
My family
I have a great family. My husband enjoys cooking which I really appreciate (although tidying up in the kitchen afterwards – not so much!)
My children are young adults now. I have no idea where the years have gone!
We have a very loving dog, Rue, who is a Shih Tzu. She loves to distract me from writing by clambering all over me desperate for attention and cuddles.

Relaxing
To relax I enjoy reading and you will find some of my book reviews on my website. I enjoy reading Christian fiction and non-fiction books. I particularly like reading Biblical fiction as it brings the Bible and the culture of that time alive for me.
A few years ago a friend taught me how to crochet. I used to knit but found that crochet produces faster results. I have crocheted various things such as amigurumi (cuddly animals), scarfs and simple clothes for my nieces.
